Key Differences Between Fellow and Google Docs
1 Purpose built to help teams run productive meetings
Fellow and Google Docs both offer collaborative note-taking; however, Fellow is designed for meeting notes. This emphasis on meetings helps ensure that you, and your team, have more engaging and productive meetings from the moment you sign up. It’s the perfect tool to organize and collaborate on meeting agendas, track action items, exchange feedback, and more.
In the same way that you wouldn’t use Google Sheets as your CRM at scale, it doesn’t make sense to use GoogleDocs for your meeting agendas.
BONUS: If you’ve ever had a hard time coming up with conversation ideas for 1-on-1 meetings, the suggested questions in Fellow will help you identify talking points. Fellow has this functionality because it’s purpose built for meetings and one-on-ones.
2 A side by side view of your calendar and meeting notes
Finding meeting notes in a sea of Google Docs is painful. If you’re managing 1-on-1 meeting notes for all your direct reports in a series of Google Docs, it can even escalate to a nightmare!
But with Fellow, your meeting notes are linked directly to your calendar events. Fellow automagically links related notes – recurring meetings have the entire meeting note history in one long stream, while notes for your 1-on-1s are grouped by person. It is automatic – no need to spend time organizing files.
3 Team wide consistency and accountability
Where Fellow really outshines Google Docs is in its ready-to-use meeting templates. From skip level to one-on-one meetings, design sprints to daily stand-ups, we’ve built hundreds of templates for you to browse, use, and customize. Or you can create your own and save them to your company account.
Besides consistency, Fellow also build accountability with action items. While it’s true that Google Docs allows you to assign action items to folks inside the doc, there’s no way to aggregate your to-dos across multiple docs. Fellow tracks all of your action items from every meeting you have and organizes them for you in a central location. Your team will know who needs to do what by when.

Restoration of order to the universe
Fellow is a system where you can queue up your thoughts for discussion with the right people which relieves your brain of using its scarce neurological RAM, and saves your co-workers time by consolidating 20 mini meetings into one temporally efficient one. If you are the type of person that is serious about your work, I would highly recommend trying out Fellow.

The glue that keeps me together
This tool is the glue that keeps me together. I have been able to pull together so many parts of my day all in one tool. I can capture meeting notes, record action items, plan my goals, and get feedback for my team members. I can organize so many areas all in one tool. Big bonuses are the articles that are shared with users every week. There are so many great articles that help me to continue to learn and grow in my role.

Fellow gives me superpowers
Fellow is my second brain. It helps me keep all of my one-on-ones organized, track goals for my reports, remember important details about their lives. Fellow provides helpful suggestions for those times when a one-on-one might be slower than usual and I need inspiration for areas to cover. Fellow also allows our teams to collaborate on meeting agendas in real time, keep notes for those meetings and provide accountability for follow-ups.

Love love love Fellow
I love that I have everything I need to collaborate with others in one place. Particularly, the meeting agendas and that they’re linked to Google calendar events! Having recurring meetings, specifically 1:1’s separated into Streams makes it really easy to find and look back on all the things we’ve discussed. I especially enjoy the feature of carrying forward unchecked agenda or action items. The templates feature is amazing as well – having suggestions for 1:1s or feedback requests.

Significantly improved our remote working environment
Templates are a game-changer for our team. We quickly upgraded to an Organization plan in order to utilize them, and it’s worth every penny. Our HR team setup some core templates for 1:1’s, leadership meetings, etc. which has made it much easier for our team to stay consistent and aligned with corporate objectives.

I Fellow ALL the things
I appreciate how organized Fellow keeps me. Not only do I use Fellow to make an agenda and take notes for every meeting and 1:1, but I also have various Private Streams that I use to keep track of things like a Weekly To-Do List, Projects, My Impact, Leadership Books, etc. It’s awesome to be able to prepare an agenda ahead of time, link in any relevant material, then have the attendees collaborate together and compile notes together.
